So I've been putting up with a really bad vibration since I bought my 00 expi. I bought it at 140k and I'm now at 185k. Back story I bought the truck form a little old lady in upstate ny. She was a lovely lady who had frech baked cookies on the counter when I arrived to buy my 00 expi at her home. She explained to me before it hopped in for a test drive that it was a lil rough mechanically but should be a great car.

She was right it was rough but I could tell the lil old lady was a straight shooter so I handed her the 3k she was asking and drove off for my home 3hrs away. Once in my garage I noticed a a leak in the exhaust manifold dr side she probably had no clue I told myself, took it off removing only two bolt as the other we're broken off by that poor lil old lady's shady mechanic. In the process of drilling out the bold left in the heads I noticed the dr side head was cracked. That sucked. So I put it in the shop 2 cats , exhaust manifold x2, ac compressor, new belts hoses, 4 show and a cracked spring new pitman arm rt front hub andunder2k additional parts and labor I was on the road while in the shop I desided to run the rims over to get new rubber as the tires looked pretty rough. One of the rims was repaired w bondo.

I had been scammed got a junk car patched up by a mother son scam team who still sell on ebay. But that's not the point. For three years I've been putting up this insain shimmy at 45 mph with nobody able to tell me what it is. I figured it was my cross to bear. I thought it was my punishment for getting tricked in ny. Most of all I was worried what it was going to cost when it was finally diagnosed. Today I had the truck on the lift and I was shaking things on the front end looking for something that would bang and rattle and shake my car like this has been. I grabbed the front drive shaft and shook it. Then I twisted it and there it was almost 20 degrees of rotation before igot any resistance. Both universals looked original and I was sure I found my shimmy. I pulled the front drive shaft and took it around the block and wow I felt like my dream truck. My truck doesn't feel like it'll shake apart at any moment... But to the point.

I have identified that my front drive shaft was loose for 50k miles shaking like hell and after removing the fr drive shaft I noticed a leak on the cross member under the t case. I was looking for input on what I can do to refresh my tcase and what seals I might need to replace at 180k knowing how well this truck was maintained I'm sure nothing has ever been done for it. And what I can test for to find problems in the t case. Before I go ahead and reattach the drive shaft and tighten everything down. This truck has 180k by the grace of god and hopefully with a lil help from me and you guys I can keep it alive at least till 250 :)

That's my story
Any tcase advise you guys have would be awesome 00xlt auto 4wd, low and ft settings.

So...do you think it's loose in the transfer case only? Or maybe the front differential? Or maybe the drive shaft is out of balance?

I am pretty sure I have a similar leak on the Navigator transfer case.

I was looking at options. I'm not sure I want to pull it out and try to get it resealed. I'm also not sure I know a shop I trust to do it...

I saw this on eBay:1996 2005 Ford F Series Expedition 4406 Transfer Case | eBay

I was thinking for $450 I could probably get it pulled out and back in, and replace all the U-joints at the same time.
