I have some damage to my lift gate, backed into a tree, a large branch punched two dents into the gate right below the window.

Body shop says it's not possible to fix and that I need to purchaes a brand new lift gate which is super $$$

Any ideas, does it make sense that the dents can't be pulled?

Since the liftgates are fibreglass, try and find a boat repair shop. AFter the holes are repaired, any body shop shuould be able to paint the repair to match.

Good luck!

my lift gate was damaged in a rear end collision. They replaced the whole thing off a salvage. It was perfect fit. Also, I believe its aluminum, like the hood.
