Got a problem. Driving down the road in my 04 expy. Dash board lights start blinking gauges are bouncing back and fourth, radio is cutting in and out. Then stopped and everything was fine. Stopped later on have no power to radio door locks and gauges. Checked all the fuses. Not sure what else to check. Any help would be appreciated.

Check alternator, battery, and grounds. Weird things can happen as more and more things depend on computers that require 12V+are in cars.

Took the alternator to Orileys up the road. Said it was fine. The fuses I pulled each one out and checked. Also got my tester out and checked the continuity of each fuse. Several of them had no power to them. Besides paying 100 to a mechanic to hook it up to there computer, I'm at a lose!
It drives and runs fine for now. But have no fuel guage or anything else. Windows don't role down, radio and all accessories don't work either. About the only thing that works rightbisbthe A/C and heater for now.

Voltmeter or test light time. If you don't have them you will need to get one or both to diagnose your problem.

FYI - pulling fuses out and checking them is mostly a waste of time. You don't know if the fuse is getting power. The only thing this tells you is if the fuse is blown.

I teach our students to use a test light or meter, turn the ignition to "on" then check both sides of the fuse for 12v while it is still plugged in. If both sides have 12v the fuse is fine. If one side only has 12v then the fuse is blown. You can check the entire fuse block in about a minute and not fiddle with that stupid fuse puller tool the OEM's include.

I mentioned in another post that I have used both voltmeter and test light I'm not getting power to some of the fuse box but power to other pets of the fuse box. I just don't want to waste money buying a new computer if that's not it.

Grounding screw?

I was having problems with my lights and radio going in and out in my '02. I just found a corroded grounding screw behind the driver's side kick panel. I cleaned that up and now the lights work better now and I hope the radio will be the same. I would take off the kick panel on the driver's side and check the lower grounding screw.
