Okay so to the guys who don't trust the dealer and do their own work... I get all of your concerns. My question is what does this look like with trying to get warranty work in the future?
I do all my own fluid and oil changes, run a 93 perf tune, and if I ever find something wrong I take it up there and tell them to fix it under warranty. Never had an issue

Myself, just replaced my drive door window regulator, thank God for utube, saves a bunch of time by seeing what's involved. Purchase parts from Rock Auto or the local independent auto parts store.

That is also cheap. High end to me is no vehicle under $50k
While your arbitrary $50k starting point for high end might be plausible, calling $35k ‘cheap shit’ is laughable.

I have never had a warranty service issue when I do my own service. I rip the top off of the oil filter box and write the date and mileage ion it. I keep part receipts. But, I have never needed to show them for a warranty claim. It does help when I want to sell a car, however.

I took my 2011 Mustang to the dealer for the 'airbag' recall' and state inspection. The car was moved 9 times around the property( I counted). The airbag/electronics guy did the change. The quick lube did the inspection. Ridiculous. In 2013 the dealer tech, took it on extended test drive and pulled all four tires(with only 1700mi on it.) The lot boy 'tested' the battery. Why was even touching it? I counted it being moved 8 times, on that trip, 4 times inside the shop. I had the owner pull the video of the visit. He was at a complete loss and could give no explanation. My 2009 Lincoln wasn't much better. The Lincoln dealer didn't bother to remove the filter access panel. They got oil all over, then wiped it up. Use the dealer only for warranty or recalls. They are freaking idiots and waste your time(and battery/starter.) Never let them ever wash it, unless you want swirls marks.

Miserable people will always have a miserable experience, whether its at a dealership or anywhere else. Nowhere is this more evident than on this forum. The entitled crowd will have a negative experience as well even if their issue is 100% solved immediately.

Some have convinced themselves and strive to convince others that each and every of the 3,000+ Ford dealerships in the USA are inferior, inept, incapable, and all the same. Chances are in their miserable life they've been to no more than a few Ford dealerships, and if they act in person like they do online, they were probably treated accordingly.

I've never been there, but Tenvoorde Ford in Minnesota signed up to sell Ford's out of their bicycle shop in 1903 and is still run by the Tenvoorde family today. I'll do the math for the miserables and tell you thats 116 years of pure luck.

Rant off.

Below was my Ford dealer for many years. Their selection was never great, always a few F150s, couple of Super Duty's, usually a nice selection of white cab & chassis diesels. Rarely an Expedition but when they did have one it was often a 4X4 King Ranch in white. I've seen as many as TWO Mustangs on the lot. If you wanted a Fiesta, there is a Mexican restaurant 3 miles south you should try, the Fiesta there is wonderful.

The owner was the mechanic, service adviser, sales person and parts guy. He was also the F&I guy and loves to talk about how "gosh dang low" the "innerst rates" are compared to the 1970s.

He usually has a shop helper unless its plant or harvest week. If you call and there wasn't an answer after the 3rd ring, you might as well hang up and try later because he was busy.

Be warned, the coffee is gone by 8am, there is no WIFI or complimentary snacks but usually a ******* in the mens rooms. No rental cars, no shuttle service. Showroom is outside. If there is a good college game early Saturday, sorry, its closed.

That's a 'hick' dealership. The bigger, high volume dealers around here, are inefficient, sketchy and don't care. I am glad you would be happy, with a mechanic, taking your vehicle home for lunch.

The main problem is dealerships are usually only barely competent or adequate. A lot of people have cars that to them, are their babies. You can't trust adequate with something that you cherish.
If you're taking a 250k car with white leather interior into an exotic repair place for service or detail they know you are picky and they are really careful and they bill accordingly.
To many people, their much less expensive car is just as important to them and they don't want anybody near it that doesn't treat it and touch it the same way they do.
A dealership will screw up the paint in a heartbeat. Never let them wash or buff a car with nice paint.
Cars with nice paint should NEVER go through a car wash.
