Is there a way to disable all Airbags fully?
I want to take my expedition extreme dune bashing/offroading and I'm concerned that the airbags might deploy.

In other cars usually there is a disable button. Couldn't find anything in the manual.

You can add a switch to any of the impact sensor leads. Any open impact sensor will light the "airbag" lamp, disable the airbags and send a code. It should clear when you turn it back on.

Most extreme dune bashing in USA sand would bash a grille and bumper cover for good. Is sand over there like powder?

Thanks for the suggestion, was hoping for something to be built in by ford.

But it's safe to say the airbags didn't deploy with my style of driving. :badger_1:

Yes the sand here is soft, already tested the car and I'm planning to upgrade the suspension and do a rear skid plate.

Already damaged the rear bumper, but that was expected since the rear bumper is very exposed from the bottom so it acted as a scoop.

However it rained the day I went out so made the sand hard.

Ya i do follow Matt's offroad, great videos and learned alot from them.
Why are you guys underestimating this car? :D

it's a great all rounder car that can be used for family camping trips and is very capable offroad (sand ) with minor modifications.

planning to install offroad Shocks and do a protection plate on the rear bumper, maybe in the future will do a front bumper. Will post a thread for it.

I have a 2010 Expedition that was used as a family camping car and a 2007 Toyota Prado landcruiser that is for dune bashing.

when you're talking about running around the sand dunes, it's called "mobbing" not "bashing"

I think the airbags are automated when turning on the off-road (low) mode in the drive modes and disabling the whole traction control the airbags will turn off it will show in the airbags on/off lights.

I have also tried my tremor in Az Zulfi’s sand dunes (Saudi Arabia) back in December the car is very capable in off road situations. However, the size and the weight distribution of the car requires some practice as i felt more than once that I will start roll over lol.

Here are some photos of my trip.

I agree it's a heavy car and requires a specific driving style.

I was in Ksa in Dec and Jan following dakar rally in my old Expedition.
Will go this Jan with my tremor, hopefully will see you there if you will go.
