I've got a 1998 5.4l and I need a new intake. Crossover is cracked. Is a Dorman my only option? I've seen the motorcraft assembly on Amazon, but it's not listed for my year. I assume it's because I have non-pi heads.

Would love to use motorcraft parts but cannot find a new one anywhere.

The problem with trying to find an oem Ford piece, is because of their failure rate, all were probably scooped up long ago. You could try having your dealership see if another dealer still has one, using their locater. Highly doubtful. Your other option is see if anyone on the internet has N.O.S part. Good luck!

I put a dorman intake on my 2000 5.4 expedition and I've been happy with it. I thought the dorman had improved and simpler intake o-rings and the power was as good as the factory. Also the coolant cross-over was a better design. I was skeptical at first when I seen the manifold, but after 50k miles, I have had no problems with it.

Also, I'm the kind of person who also prefers to stick with Motorcraft or factory Ford parts. My rig has over 250K on it and runs great.

Only got about 45k miles out of my Dorman before it started leaking. Replaced with Motorcraft.

Look up the factory part number on some ford-part website and search for a replacement.

I have. They're obsolete. All I can find as far as motorcraft all for the pi heads.
