Double Din in an 01 Expedition

Does anyone know if it's possible to put a Double Din stereo in a 2001 Expedition ?

Should fit with no problem. Just get the proper install kit

When you remove the radio look into the hole and up. You will notice the is a sloped piece of plastic which will need to be cut out to fit the radio. Other than that the proveded cage should fit right in the factory hole!

Just acquired a '00 XLT and was wondering the same. When I used the vehicle fit advisor on both Crutchfield and Best Buy, none of the double din units showed to fit. Would they or not? Would I need to buy any additional hardware to have one fit?

I was also looking into a Double Din Stereo and Crutchfield and Best Buy said that they won't fit but A few custom shops said it would not be any problem, There may be alittle tweeking but I don't think it would be a bib deal,if the shops can do it so can we!

It does say modification may be needed.

So this Metra kit is needed in addition to what comes with the head unit?
