Drivers door help needed

2009 expedition EL
Opened up the drivers door panel to understand what is taking when it's opened and closed.
Found this switch hanging free and the wiring looks to be getting caught up with the window up down movement.
Anyone have any idea of what it is and where is goes?

Any help would be much appreciated

It is your door ajar switch. IF you look in your passenger door you should be able to see where it goes.

You mean dismantle the passenger side for a look?
Do you know if it's possible to replace this with the regulator assy installed?

Update. Found out that the switch is broken so I've just tried it up our the way.

If it's broken your door ajar light will be on and your interior lights may not turn off. They are cheap enough to buy and replace.
