Well, it's on level 3 now with a full tank of 93 octane... and to be totally honest with you guys, I really can't tell that much of a difference, not with gas mileage or performance.

The only thing I can feel is a little better throttle response. And I'm a pretty aggressive driver. :blah:

Is there any settings that I should tamper with? It's already adjusted for my gears and my tire size..

I was thinking about that but didn't wanna screw anything up. WOT has to do with the throttle, right?

Yeah I'll check into it tomorrow. What do you think would be ideal shift points?

Oh and I'll probably order that prerunner bar that you have on your truck sometime in the next few weeks. Sorry for stealing all your ideas. :waytogo:

well hey, if you're looking to get rid of it let me know! and don't worry your secrets are safe with me... shoot... just kidding! lmao

and I know brush guards would hold up well in an accident, and I know that pre runner bar would too. I like the look of a bull bar a lot more but I'm pretty sure it would end up causing more damage in an accident.

With my edge I run it on level 3 with premium and as far as adjusting settings all I changed on mine was the shift firmness, I put the firmness up by 15% on all shifts and it made a huge difference. If you are crusing around town sometimes you can feel it but it is just a really quick shift. If you are full throttle balls to the wall it will throw you back in the seat ecpesically on the 1-2 shift.

As far as fuel economy goes, I found that it takes a FEW good trips to really notice anything, since when you change the tune you completly erase the computer and load a new "tune" the computer has to "relearn" shift stratigies and other paramaters. Once you have gone a good 50 - 100 miles ( and if you can keep your foot out of it ) you will start to see a difference. If you are constantly changing the tune or power level you will not see that increase since the computer is always relearning itself. Once I quit "playing" with the tuner and left it on level 3 I went from a 15 average to a 18.5 - 19 average (again ONLY if I keep my foot out of it :waytogo:).

brush guards... hold up very well in accidents... my old 97 f150 t-boned a older ford escort hatchback and bent the car around it... lady ran a stop sign... and the only damage I had was bent brush buard and a cracked headlight cover.... prerunner won't give you much protection since it only mounts to bumper....

No actually bull bars do really good in accidents. I had mine for 2 days and i rear ended a honda accord doing about 25mph and it completly crushed the trunk and shoved it all the way to the rear window. It totaled the accord and the only thing that happened to me was a small dent on my bull bar. It definetly saved my front bumper if not alot more.

Sorry this has nothing to do with the edge programmer.

Thanks for the tips man, it definitely helped changing the shift firmness. I'll probably turn them up to around 20 percent to get more out of it. Haven't really seen any improvement on gas mileage yet though.

yeah the only way an edge will increase MPGs is if you can keep your foot out of it.... then you will see an improvement.... might have to try adjusting the shift points now...lol

I left the shift points alone, but I do recomend increasing the SHIFT PRESSURE it makes a world of difference in the feel of the truck. It gets rid of those soft "car like" shifts so not only does it feel better, but your trans will thank you in the end as well since it is not slipping each shift for "comfort".

I'm looking at getting an Edge this summer. I know its nothing like a diesel programmer, but from the hp gain, will it be enough to help with downshifting on smaller hills. I am also wanting to get rid of my rear cats. The reason I'm asking is there is a lot of change in elevation here in Wyoming and more power would be nice.
