My 2001 expedition has electrical problems. Some like on these posts but not all the same. Gauges quit working and then it would not crank. Had both battery and alternator checked and both checked out ok. Charged battery and truck will crank but after time battery discharges and truck quits. In the process of battery dying lights blink on and off and power door locks continue to go up and down until battery is dead. A clicking noise is coming from near interior fuse box. Help please . We are out of town and trying to get back home.
Thanks.

ststiltn, take a look at your battery terminals and make sure that they are in good condition. I have seen some problems like you are seeing because the factory clamps were failing and the rings of the clamp were starting to break, resulting in bad electrical connections.

The clicking you are hearing is more than likely the relays for the door locks. Granted, could be the accessory relay too.

Also, check the floor at the driver's feet. Is the floor wet? If so, it is very possible you are dealing with a windshield leak which is getting water on the GEM module, which will cause all sorts of strange things to happen like you are seeing. The fix for this is to get the windshield re-sealed and then dry out the GEM module. Depending on how long this has been going on and how much water got inside the GEM module, you may end up also replacing the GEM module. Sometimes it is fine after it dries out, sometimes not. Hope this helps you solve your problem.
