Engine control software updates...

I am curious, are there periodic updates for the software that works the engine computer or is this even applicable to the Expedition.
I have an 09 EB.....

On my 98 Eddie Bauer (third hand) is a sticker labeled Ford Authorized Modifications listing "PCM Reprogram" and "F8PF-BA650-EFA", dealer 20666 dated 04-17-01. Would love to find out what the F8PF is and who dealer # 20666 is.
