I am a new bee . I think I am stoopid or something I have not had any respounce about the engine swap. From my both are 4x4 2000 expedition 4.6 motor and my wr70 transmision . I want to install my 2001 5.4 expedition motor with my wr100 transmision with wireharnes and pcm Into the 2000 expedition . If any one can please help. daoud,

You can install the 5.4L with the 4r100 transmission in place of the 4.6L with the 4r70w transmission. But you need to have the computer and wiring harness from the 5.4L. Then it will be much more simple.

Dear qcksnacke I would like some input from you I am planning on doing the swap on my expedition while my kids are home for xmass . Do you realy think I won't have any Problem with the installation . I do have the wire harnes for the 5.4 and also for the r/w 100 transmission I hope we don't get any snow because I am doing this out side . I would also like your help on where to hook a chain to pull the motor I realy don't want to take of the intakemanafold if I don't have to . Thanks for your in put

I pulled and installed my new motor with the intake manifold off. There are several large bolt holes that are available in the valley/head area that I used 4 of. I have a few photos posted in my build thread. Other than having to drain the coolant it is pretty simple to remove and install intake.

I had to remove all my accessories and radiator to get the clearance to move the motor forward in order to lift it. Half of it sits under the firewall !! I also had to remove my front bumper assembly in order to give the engine lift room enough to reach it since it sits so far back.

Ok thanks for your input I have a nother one for you do you think the pins in the pcm will match up interiors harnes . Please let me now what you think I hope I am worrying about nothing .
