your close to 13's maybe a little more boost if you dare and you will be their

I would have no concerns about running more boost. The motor is built to handle much more. Biggest concern would be fuel milage with the increase in boost. The way the motor was pulling today I am certain it would actually run mid 13's at present boost. The tune just needs to be dialed in.....

I do have a 6# pulley coming. This will net me about 12.5 psi boost. Will install after vacation. This should wake it up a bit. Being a low compression motor it will appreciate more boost.

It could really use a higher gear ratio.. 3.73's or even 4.10's and a higher stall converter....... damn it..... the drag racer in me is already mapping out my mods, addressing the weak links as far as performance. I am going to end up making a race vehicle out of a 5600 pound expy....lol. This is how it all started with my mustang.

You are correct. It would be considered a lower gear ratio. This always confused me as it is technically a higher numeric ratio. If you do the math which is a higher numeric ratio... 1 / 3.55 or 1 / 3.73?! What gear heads started this new math?? lol

It just occured to me that my Expy was shifting into overdrive on every pass even with the o/d button turned off. This kills your mph and e.t. 3rd gear is 1 to 1. 4th is overdrive. I know it shifted 3 times on every pass!! There must be some kind of override once you exceed the programmed shift speed by a given amount. I am not sure what my tuner has the shift point at but it was way to early!!!!!!!!! 3rd gear should be good for 120 mph or better at 1 to 1.

Will let you know when I check it. Been playing with it too much recently doing misc things and keep disconnecting the battery. Resets my trip odometer. I know I could write down the milage...too lazy I guess. Will check on trip to outerbanks. Will be towing boat and have full load.

Sweet ride ....:pepper::pepper::pepper: Expy in the 13's is cool in the 12's would be sick:drool2:

Thanks! :)

13's should be no problem once its dialed in. I know it can easily make the power to run 12's but my concern is the rest of the drivetrain. If I make it to and from the outerbanks this coming week with no issues I will be free to see what she will do when I get back. :pepper::pepper:

Those are some impressive times, cant wait to start on mine someday..... but you know that breaking things is how all other people make their vehicles faster, when it breaks, get something bigger and stronger and faster... who knows, you might be on the front cover of a magazine someday with a 12 second expy :)

My 6# pulley arrived today! :pepper: I could have installed in 30 minutes or less.....but I will wait until after our trip to the outerbanks this coming weekend. Theoritically it will net me 12.5 psi boost as compared to my current 8.5psi. Should feel dramatically different.

I also discovered my K&N IAC barb was leaking where it threaded into the K&N piece. This was causing a loud whistle in relation to where the IAC was set at. Did not realize the whistle was caused by that as I was told it was normal by a few with an open air filter. But when I sealed it up good with gasket sealer before I rethreaded it in all of the whistle has disappeared. :pepper::pepper: You can actually hear the whistle in my exhaust walk around video..
