Hey I am looking into purchasing an extended warranty for my 2011 EL. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with these companies and if you would recommend one over another? I am going to be having this truck for at least 6 years and my factory warranty runs out in approx. 14000 miles. I do not want any expensize repairs later down the road. We plan on pulling a travel trailer down the road and am concerned that dragging that thing around will wear on the more expensive parts of the truck. Any thought?

I have the extended warranty through Ford that I rolled into payments when I took delivery back in 07, covers me for 7/100k. Don't know the company though. Only had to use it once for some coils, $100 deductible .

Yeah I bought mine through a Ford dealer but it was a year old so no extended warranty through Ford. The warratny company (Guardian) seems to have alot of complaints online so I did not go with it. Looks for a monthly payment of around 100.00 a month. Just don't want to get stuck with a lemon of a warranty company.

Just know that warranties are their biggest profit center and are fraught with problems.
They rarely cover fluids and warranty claims usually involve a joint expense where you pay for lots of things not covered during the repairs. Regular maintenance stuff done by the book must be documented to keep your warranty valid.
If you put $100 a month in the bank, in 3 years you will have $3600 which should cover most expenses you would ever encounter.
You're going to pull a travel trailer for a couple weeks a year max and if you're not overloaded and everything is up to par nothing will happen to the Expy.

True this being my first "big" vehicle I am imagining "big" repair bills... just a little nervous about something going bad and costing a fortune..

If you are going to get an extended warranty go with JM&A some times called Fidelity. Their price is on par with everyone else and you will have no problem finding a repair shop or dealer that will deal with them cause they pay the shop with a credit card over the phone. Wynn's would be my second choice as they do the same and are a big name in extended warranty. Stay away from one choice, your choice, 1st choice and 1 extended. I've been doing warranty work for Ford and many other dealer for over 10 years and have never had a problem with JM&A or Wynns. SAVE your reciepts for all services done also, they will want to see you are taking care of your truck before they pay. alot of companys will screw you out of paying due to lack of reciepts, just because you have an extended warranty dont mean they will pay your claim. if you have any other questions feell free to ask me or pm me and i will give you my number

I bought the Ford extended warranty on my wife's Lincoln Zephyr. I shopped around, and printed off the quotes that were E-mailed to me, then took that to my local dealer and they matched the best one I had. I can tell you that I trust the Ford one, but cant comment on others. Good Luck

ASC Warranty offers a factory type coverage option, Mine was Very inexpensive and paid for two trans rebuilds on two cars back-to-back, no B.S. Parts and Labor paid.
I recommend ASC to everyone.

I'm a fan of the Ford ESP's. Once you buy the plan, it "attaches" to your VIN. When you bring in your vehicle for service, the dealer enters you VIN, and you only pay the deductable for covered repairs.

When pricing, figure a 100% dealer markup. There is lots of negotiation room on the price. Just make sure you purchase the ESP before your vehicle is out of the 3/36K warranty.

And you can buy the ESP at any Ford/Lincoln dealership, not just the dealer where you bought your vehicle.
