My symptoms are different but I still suspect bearings.
It started shimmying at 55 .Could not find anything loose or broke but when I jacked it up I could barely turn the right front tire . Left turns fairly easy...
Read were one symptom of bad bearings is binding .

So i'll start by saying I am aware of the idiocy of using used parts to fix vehicles... but I am in a pinch for the next 2 weeks and have to get my 03 4x4 expedition up and running for as cheap as possible. I have to replace just the front passenger Lower control arm. Can I pull a used one from a salvage yard for the time being? Or do you ruin them when you pull them?

They can be pulled and replaced. That's a lot of extra work to go used now and replace later, but gotta do what you gotta do I suppose.

I used Detroit axle on mine 4 yrs ago and they are still going strong. Going to install a new set all the way around when installing my lift and brakes.

I got a 03 it's got 230000 on it I'm about to put ball joints in it and makes a clunking noise when you go over speed bumps... Putting a new flywheel starter in a Tuesday that's going to cost 1300... oh damn it boy... But I like the truck so I'm not going to complain.... too much....

I just got a Detroit Axle one for a Trailblazer in yesterday.
We'll see how long it lasts. Certainly BLEW the doors off of O'Reilly, Advance and ALL other local parts stores and theirs are all made in china too.
They are going to have to start competing at least with people who ask or they will be extinct.

Done all four on my 2004 as well.. I even converted the front 4 wheel to drive to 2 wheel by getting a 2 wheel drive hub bearing.. fits perfectly. Since than one on the front fail so I went with a different brand and made sure the bearings were Tapered roller bearings. Heads up those back hub bearings are no joke to take off! I bought ATD 8629 Wheel Hub Removal Tool.. if not for that I would be still beating on this hub bearing’til this day lol

Detroit axle

Have done all 4 in my '04, used wheel hub assemblies from Detroit Aaxle. Check them out if you dont want to pay a ton of money for good american made parts

I've used Detroit Axle kit to redo my front brakes (2003). Came with front rotors, ceramic pads, hardware/hardware lube and a bottle of DOT3 brake fluid and can of brake cleaner. All for $80 with free shipping. Ordered from Amazon also. They have been just fine.

If I had to do hubs I'd likely source it from Amazon. I think I already have them 'saved for later' with Amazon.

I replaced both front hub/bearing assemblies with abs sensors in an attempt to fix my advancetrac issues. I am stilling getting code C1122, faulty front left wheel speed sensor input voltage. My abs kicks on randomly under normal braking or even no braking at all. I believe either the new sensor is a bad, or the wiring further up past the sensor connector has an issue. Anyone else have any insight into this? I used mevotech parts.

Thanks,
Sean

I do not have advancetrac, but...

I've read on a Porsche website that if you go to full lock/turn the older wiring could be subject to stress and intermittent or continuous problems like you describe.
