Just got this message in the FordPass app. Thought it was pretty cool.

Remote features on your FordPass Connect™-equipped vehicle, once offered only for a trial period, are now complimentary. So, enjoy remote start/stop, lock/unlock, vehicle status check, vehicle locator, schedule a start and more knowing all that convenience will be there when you need it.*

My 2018 came with 5 years free at the time. I was under the impression that they reduced it to 1 year free for 2019 models. Is it free indefinitely for everyone now?

That's kinda what they made it sound like. I dunno for sure tho, it's not the clearest message ever haha. Would be cool for sure if it was indefinitely!

When I bought mine, the dealer said it was free for a year but that there was talk of making it free all the time. I thought that may have just been dealer hype. Glad it was true.

I thought my vehicle came with it free for the life of the vehicle. I was never told differently.

Same here. Was told it was a courtesy service. No charge.

Yup same here. Took delivery in March of 2018. Been free ever since. I use it daily to remotely start the vehicle.

Yup, I'll add my name to the list. My dealer told me prior to purchase that FordPass Connect was free for the life of the vehicle. Although they did push it as if it was a benefit from buying through them and not necessarily something that automatically came with buying the truck from someplace else.

So I'm guessing that they used to be able to sell you years of service and now they've just given up.

It's actually pretty cool, I was talking to a coworker who has a honda and their web app service is $8 a month and it just ran out after his 3 month new buyer window. I told him to call them and let them know that Ford is providing it for free now and they should too. But we'll see.

Probably not. I wouldn't think that you have remote start as an option on your Expy.

What year is your truck? A 2019, check out forscan and see if you can enable remote start. If so enable it, then try the app. I was able to enable it on my 17, but purchased key fobs.

From Ford pass. I'm wondering if app would work for me, although not listed. I may have to check it out. App would certainly extend my range, atleast I would think?

I'm REALLY looking forward to this. Had it through the Onstar app on my 2011 and 2014 Acadia Denali's. Don't have it on my 2017 Explorer. Looking forward to getting it back. Right now the FordPass app is useless for my 2017. Doesn't do anything. And the YouTube tutorials for adding a vehicle look completely different than the way the app looks. I'll have to wait until the 2020 Expedition is delivered before trying this out. Hope it works well!!
