So I'm going to jump down the forscan rabbit hole but haven't decided to go BT or wired. Are there limitations to either? I feel like the wired connection would be more reliable. It's half the price and I don't know how often I'm really going to use it after I get my first few settings have been changed. Logging will be nice when I do engine mods but it wouldn't be the end of the world to have the laptop out for that. Curious what you guys went with... I'm primarily Android but have an iPad around if that makes a difference.

I have the OBDLink MX+ and it works great with my iPhone and Surface. There is a forscan lite app. That is android and IOS. I have just changed a few things and have not used it since. But I keep it in my center console just Incase.

This is the one I've been looking at as well. Does it come with the software needed to change codes or do you need to purchase or download the FORScan software as well? I'm new to this and need to research it more.

That auction is a knockoff! It is not a real OBDLink MX Wifi. - It appears the TapaTalk app is still hijacking Amazon links and redirecting them to EBay. Make sure you are going to Amazon and getting the actual brand name adapter.

Get the MX+ BT either straight from OBDLink or Amazon. It is BT LE, and will work with all platforms, Android, iOS, and Windows. MX BT will only with Android and Windows. The Wifi Model is annoying because you can’t be connected to your home Wifi and it at the same time on your laptop.

This is what you want if you want the best Wireless OBDII Module to use with FORSCAN:

It goes on sale periodically.

The OBDLink will have its own app. There is a FORscan section in this forum. You have to down load FORscan to a windows pc and apply for a temporary license or buy a yearly or lifetime license. Lifetime is less the. $50.00.

I bought the full version of forsan.
On the forscan website there was a link to buy the adapter.

Lokiwolf, I would imagine this is not a knock off b/c I used the link off of forscan website where to purchase.

This is what I get when I click on your link.

I see now where you were trying to go, sorry about that.

I think it is a TapaTalk app issue. Others will get the same. People routinely complain about TapaTalk hijacking some links, especially amazon.

This makes more sense now! Haha, I clicked on the link and it went to the Amazon one, then I saw you saying the auction was a knockoff and was baffled! I don't use tapatalk, so that could be why. Crazy that they would hijack s forum posted link!

Thank you everyone for the info!
I'm still torn, but I suppose if there is an unexpected issue I'd rather have the BT one so I can just check on my phone instead of needing the laptop...
