Well it has been confirmed. The exhaust manifold stud at the rear of the motor on the driver side has broken off at the head. According to my mechanic, some of the other ones will probably break off when I try to remove them to remove the manifold.
I know that some of you have done this already. HOw difficult of a job is it? I wonder if I can just get a vise-grips on the stud to remove it?
Can it be done by just removing the inner fender liner? I can't imagine what it would cost to have a dealer do it.
Does anybody want to share your experiences with broken studs?
