All the pipe used was from the exhaust that was on the truck from the factory. Wish I had about 4 inches more of pipe to get the tip out a little more but cheap easy modification that cost nothing but the time I put into it. 20200126_124039.jpg20200126_124045.jpg20200126_125225.jpg20200126_135522.jpg20200126_153213.jpg

No, its a little bit louder at start-up. Not raspy at all. Wot it sounds good, not loud at all. Throttle response seems better (could be placebo) and the turbos are alot more pronounced.

I am debating doing something similar that you did or just go with a cat back system. My resonator is rusting badly which sucks for a truck that is barely 3 years old.

I really want a dual exhaust starting with a Y pipe right after the muffler but I do not see how this can be done with the spare tire where it is mounted.

Wind was gusting, so I had a couple spots that had porosity in it, Not the best but, it'll work.

What if I wanted more of that sexy (I think) "blub blub blub" sound you get at idle on trucks with larger engines? Is that easily achievable or do I have to start thinking about a cat-back.

Check out YouTube, all the brand have video clips of what they sound like. None that I know of have that sound like it's and old school cam'd engine. The best one that I have heard is Jessie James's raptor but he doesn't say what he did to make it sound the way it does.

Just completed this mod, a few suggestions. Remove entire assembly at clamp, cut tip off and connector pipes off close to muffler, cut hanger off pipe, cut connector pipe in the middle of the straight section. Re-install connector pipe and adjust until your happy with alignment. For mine, I rotated the connection at the flange approximately 1” counter clockwise, then fit the other cut section to align with the frame and vertically level, then align tip with drain hole at bottom. Weld and re-install, test fit hanger to ensure the pipe is centered between the frame and spare heat shield. Agree with previous posts, and extra 4-6” of 3-1/2” pipe would make it perfect.
