Hello all,
I'm new here I have a question or two. First, the other day we noticed that the first speed on the front A/C (the standard knob type control) doesn't work, it blows no air at all. But speeds 2-4 all work. I talked to my grandfather, who had the same problem with his 97 Chevy Cavalier, he said its not the actual rotary knob itself, but it's the control circuit board that controls the blower motor, that corrosion messes it up, that low speeds won't work but high ones will- exactly the problem we have. He said sometimes they can be a pain in the rear to replace. We have the Haynes repair manual, I haven't look in it for this yet, I was hoping somebody here would have some knowledge of this issue, and how easy it will be to fix ourselves. Second problem, possibly related, when on Max A/C, on speeds 3 and 4, the front air will randomly and often switch between the torso vents, and the window vents. As you might imagine, this is a little annoying. Could this be caused by the same circuit board malfunctioning? Thanks in advance for any help!
