I have a 2003 expedition. The pump is around $300 for a pump and sender assy. Can I just purchase the pump itself and reuse the sender? I can't find a part number for the pump itself. There's a bunch of aftermarket companies selling them but they fit 97-03 model, and I think that's completely different than my 2003. A bunch of aftermarket companies have the year wrong on the expedition, it should be 97-02.

Check on RockAuto.. I have purchased many parts from them. If you need to purchase locally, (in a hurry for it) look at purchasing it from Advance Auto online, then pick up in the store. I have saved 20-40% with their specials.

My gauge works fine, I just want to replace the pump if possible. If the gauge breaks then I'll worry about it. However I don't have any extra $300+ laying around to spend on parts I don't need. I'd like to buy just the pump, and there's some sellers who have aftermarket high flow pumps for less than $60, but looks like the old style 2002 and older.
