Gas filler door

Mine fits well. Back in 1984 I bought a new Dodge Mirada I drove it straight home 30 some miles on it. For some reason I parked on the lawn. I opened y door and it fell off I mean off. It hit the grass . A buddy helped me lift it in to place. Crawled across and drove it back to the dealer with no damage.the body shop manager after the salesman explained it to him opens the door and it hit the pavement.i drove another car home.

Mine sticks out a little at the leading edge. It’s only really noticeable after the car was washed and dried, due to the slightly different reflections. It is plastic, as noted above, and has a very slight ‘set’ to it.

2018 Max Limited here. Filler door aligned as designed. Body gaps all look fairly even as well.

What is it made out of, Plastic??? Looks like it hates heat, or somebody got it stuck in their coat, snatched it open passed the far enough point, and kept pulling? I have to ask, is it one of those cap less fuel fillers? All waumpyjawed like that it cant be sealing up when you shut it.

I took mine off the other day. It just slides & clips on. Anyone with the leading edge hanging out maybe it was installed with the leading edge not set in the right position or something pulled it out of place. At any rate sliding it backwards towards the rear of the vehicle got mine to pop off and I just popped it back on. I did that after thinking mine might be a little out of kilter and the fact it came off so easily leads me to believe I was right. It looks better, but it wasn’t bad to begin with.
