Ok guys I searched the forum for this one but didn't see much on the topic.

I'm sure someone will set me straight though.

So here is the problem during a repair where I had to drop the steering column I accidentally hooked the gear selector cable, pinching and ultimately breaking the plastic housing around the cable.

My question is simple does anyone have experience on replacing this? Is there a best place to source a replacement part? I scoured RockAuto but I am not seeing the part there. However, I did happen to find the part on Ebay.

If you guys have any backyard fixes I'd be interested in those too.

Basically any instructive help would be greatly appreciated...

Should I mention telling me to replace it doesn't really answer the question, so please lets avoid those posts...

Thanks in advance

Being you don't want to be told what you already know I won't tell you.

But you best bet would be to find one in a junk yard or u-pull-it yard

I have the complete unit here which I paid $25.00 for if your interested

It snaps into the instrument cluster but hooking the cable can be a pain and the only way to replace the plastic piece. Well you know that answer.
