This will work on the 03/04 Expy and apparently 03/04 Navi as well. I've seen it done on 05/06 models but that requires cutting the airbox.
3" diameter piece of PVC pipe. It has to be a length of actual PVC pipe, not a 3" coupler. I needed to cut it to about 4" and then take a belt sander to the outside and remove a fair amount of material for it to squeeze into the fender opening. Make sure you get the PVC through the inner and outer fender openings but not so far that it hits the skin of the fender itself and creates a blockage. Reach in and feel with your fingers and get the PVC just past flush with the outer fender opening. You can also use thin wall PVC to avoid all the sanding but I couldn't find that. Apparently ACE carries it but I dunno.

3" coupler with worm clamps built into it:

Stock airbox back in place with a WIX paper filter:

Looks pretty stealth:

Stock air silencer/snorkel is way too small:

Got this stuff at the home depot. 2ft pre-cut PVC piece for $8 and then the coupler was $6 plus tax=$15 out the door. Don't waste your money on a K&N or some ebay junk cold air intake. The K&N actually pulls air from the engine bay which is a hot air intake and I would not recommend it. Latemodel air intakes have gotten very good honestly, most of the time they just need a little help like this and you are good.
No idea if it really helps at all but I figured for the price, what the hell. Can't hurt and it cleans up the engine bay a little if nothing else. Also saves a ton of money over the K&N which is a downgrade honestly being a hot air intake. The modded stock intake with a good paper filter in it is as good as it is going to get on the stock motor. Maybe install an AEM dry filter in place of the paper one if you are really feeling froggy but i don't see the need.
