greetings forum!

i was hoping you guys could help me out with my abs...
2000 expy 4.6 engine

bought the truck this past sept....
changed the front brakes myself in april... didnt change the rotors they looked ok... never changed the back brakes prob could use a change....
2 days ago the abs light pops up... car still brakes fine... ive been having to press a little harder on the pedal last couple months, i figure it was due to the back brakes needing a change. other than that all is well...

can anyone here clue me into why the abs light is on?? if its just a brake change i can do it myself n save money at the mechanic...

thanks!!!!

Check the wires running to the ABS sensors. My 01 XLT ABS light came on one day out on the trail, turns out one of the wires worked it's way out of the clip and was rubbing on the tire.

check the 3 wheel speed sensors one at each front wheel and the rear is on top of the differental ... as for needing more break pressure did you pad slap the front or not have the rotors turned???

Hey guys!

So i changed my rear breaks n rotors this weekend and the abs light is still on... And aww man if you saw the rotors n pads you'd understand why id think it was the rear breaks... Although i still dont know if the rear has to do with the abs... I assume cause they are all disc breaks... The truck feels a lot better now when breaking...

So i find when i press the breaks when i start the truck the light doesnt go on. It doesnt go on till i take my foot off the break...

Fixed mine today after I had the dealer run a scan for 50 bucks turned out to be the rear speed sensor. Changed it myself.
