Just made a trip with my 2003 5.4 from ft hood tx to fort lewis wa. Hauled a packed trailer that took a toll on my truck. Ive worked on various faults and have been able to fix all of them but one. A few days ago a squel/squek keeps going on. Its loud at start up and low rpms. Subsides while driving. And then intermittent while idling. I replaced the belt tensioner before my trip but still inspected it just in case. Its good. The idler pulley is good as well. But yesterday i noticed the noise sounds like its coming from somewhere underneath the computer?? I got no clue. But later today will be inspecting further. Any ideas??

Get a mechanics' stethoscope and listen to different things. Take off the belt and see if it stops. Check your oil level. Check the trans fluid level. Don't rule out tensioner and idler; if they're Chinese auto-parts-store junk a third are bad out of the box.

So just run it without the belt? A stethoscope was put on both tensioner and idler and was told tensioner was bad so i replaced it and didnt fix the issue.
