HI I just bought a 2015 ford expedition and bought some new platinum replica 22 wheels and have 2 problems need advice.

1 is I can't put rear Center caps on cause center hub bolt sticks out so need recommendations I'm thinking 1/2 wheel spacers but not sure lugs long enough or if I can cut the hub bolt I need about 3/8 - 7/16 to clear to put center cap on there's 1-3/16 of bolt sticking out past hub nut so plenty to cut but worried about threads if il be able screw nut on not sure if this is good idea

2 is front end is much higher than rear want to lower it wats best way without sacrificing ride or ruining suspension and tires

Wrong forum. You need to post on 3rd gen forum. Although the 3rd gen owners do spend a ton of time here.......;)

Merged with 3rd gen thread.

well to be fair, the 4th gen has the same issue with the axle protrusion as well. (ditto for me). Dealer did mention there may be an option to trim down the bolt, but i'm still waiting for an answer from them.

As for the center caps not going on, the backspacing changed on 2015-up F150 but not the Expedition. Looks like those have the F-150 backspacing. I just used a cut off wheel on a grinder and cut the 3/8 inch off or whatever it is. It doesn't take much. I did this to my 2009 and 2014. There is plenty of material there and with a relatively clean cut the threads are fine. Regardless the only issue would be trying to thread the axle nut back on, but if you already have it off to fix an axle problem, I imagine you would be replacing it anyway.

There are no aftermarket options available to lower the 15-17 that I’ve found. You can replace struts and raise it with spacers, but that’s about all the options that exist for this gen of Expedition.
When I look at your pic, seems level to me. The rear wheel opening isn’t as large as the front, so if you’re judging by the gap between the top of the tire and the wheel opening lip, it appears front-high when it’s level.

You'll probably (knock on wood) never need to remove the axles, but if its a concern: Buy a spare nut @ Ace Hardware. Spin it on snug to the original. Cut or grind the threads as needed. Spin off the temporary nut, it should clean up the threads on its way off.

Nice truck, wheels look good on it.

Or put a die on the axle threads..cut and run the die back out with a lot of oils...axels are hardened steel...a grade 8 nut might do it if it's a clean cut but chances are good it will just eat the threads on the nut..grade bolt probably be ok for wheel studs...
