how do you add auto lamps to a 2001 xlt

I once saw something here on the forum that said it wasn't hard to convert to auto lamps.. I found that long oval piece that has the photo cell in it but, my truck didn't have the harness that plugs into the 2 sensors bolted to the the oval dash piece... how hard is it to convert to auto lamps...please help

Get a wiring diagram for your year, compare the wiring for one that has the feature and one that doesn't. Then you'll know what is needed from the salvage yard and if you will need to re-pin the connectors to make it work.
