The cigarette lighter power source is not working. I would imagine either a wire is off or I just need to replace it.

I am not sure the best way to remove, or at least get into, the console.

Any suggestions?

Have you checked the fuse? Should be the same one that protects the OBD II port.

Gotta go right now, but there should be a couple how to in here. Just search for them.

I have not checked for a fuse because the port on the passenger side of the console works just fine, it's only the one on top that is not working.

The black front cubby has a 7 mm screw holding it in under the bottom rubber insert. Once removed, open the lid and pull up on the cubby and it will pop out. There are spring clips holding it in (2 in the front corners, and I think 2 more in the rear). That will get you access to the front 12V plug. If you need access to the rear one, you have to remove the liner and lid.

Even more reason :) You are technically not supposed to use the cigarette lighter as a 12V point because it shares the fuse with the OBD II port. The side port is on it's own separate fuse.
