How to access to drop the oil pan to change the oil pan gasket on a 1999 expedition 5

I have an oil leak and is the cross member underneath the truck removeable or do the engine have to be lifted to gain access to the oil pan for removal to change the oil pan gasket? What's the method about doing that?

It's a '99 Expedition 5.4 2wd currently @323k miles. Thank you!

I am having to lift mine up to get the oil pan off for p/u tube and pump replacement while I do the head gaskets. needs to be unbolted from trans though as the bell housing wont clear the firewall unless you straight up pull the whole assy out

The crossmember is removable 15 mm bolts hold it in place.
