My 5.4 gets a whopping 10ish in the city. My friends raptor get's better fuel economy (13 to 16) than my expedition and is about equal in weight but with worse rotational mass and similar gearing (32" tire with 3.73s vs 34.5" tire with 4.10s).

The 6.2 would equal or improve the expedition fuel economy barring no other changes or weight increases.

If you get 10 in the city youre doing it wrong. I have 3.31s and Im constantly loaded pretty good and I have to try hard to get bellow 14...

I love everything about my 12 except for the dreaded paint blistering issue. I don't have it yet but I sadly expect it.

My 07 never blistered and it was parked outside 24/7 in the great sunny state of FL. It's all in how you care for your vehicle.

It's also the quality of paint they use. Better paints have more uv protectants in them and thus lasts longer in the sun.

Its not the quality or care as I care for mine like and OCD freak and I have bubbling. The reason the paint bubbles is that the hood and tailgate are aluminum and thus require a different paint. Ford used the wrong paint and that spawned the bubbling. Sucks but in the grand scheme of things its not a problem in my book for a $15k truck. Now if I spent $50k+ Id be a hair mad...

I don't think there is a 50K dollar expedition out there unless it's armored or modified. I can tell you my new king ranch 4x4 with everything but the headrest entertainment was well under 50, even 45K.

PS paint has little to do with aluminum or steel....we use the same paint on both and have zero issues. It has to do with prep and care.

I believe a new king ranch starts at $52k. Limited start at $48k which might as well be 50k. Oh and those are the non EL versions.

What they sticker for and what you pay are usually very different. They advertise 10k-12k of sticker around here.

That is why I love forums, they are so full of BS it's really hard to get down to the facts. People will post what a great deal they got and 10 posts later tell you that it's a 50,000 dollar truck when there is a warranty issue. Well which is it....facts of life are it's only worth what someone will pay you for the item or if you just purchased the item what you paid for it.

Pretty much this. I will tell you my brand new '13 king ranch 4x4 complete with 3.73s (skip rear bucks and DVD headrests but all other options) was under 40K. Sticker was 56K or so.

So you got about 17K off sticker ???? Thats like 30% off sticker !!!!
Was this thru a fleet program or something ?? I didn't think you could get that much off even with the employee plan.
Not saying your lying just absolutely amazed.

That IS possible if you catch an end of Model Year or something. I got a Neon for like 40% once by buying a NEW 2002 in 2003

I am a fleet buyer our agreement doesn't allow us to tell others exactly what we pay but I can tell you it's more than 20K off sticker our only downfall is we have to keep the for a minimum of 12 months. More to the point when I was looking around for the unit I wanted with the some specific options you could find King Ranch standard length 4x4s for under 45K all day long in the DFW/Houston corridor. The majority of them were 4x4s, 2nd row bucket seats, 401A (Power running boards, nav, and sunroof). I probably found 8-10 in the 43 to 45K range.

The biggest downfall to my expedition is getting in my wife's QX56 (Nissan Patrol) and driving it then getting back into the expedition. Even if you take away all the amenities of the QX the fit and finish combined with the drivetrain are leaps and bounds above what they crank out in the expedition or Tahoe (or new F-150) for that matter.

I frequently rent or am driven in Nissan Patrols when I work in the middle east and can say ford needs to buy a couple and backwards engineer the expedition to compete. When you think they start about 50,000 USD they are a pretty close competitor to the Expedition and without a doubt a player in the Navigator market (Nicer model starts in the mid 60s if I am not mistaken).

My point is that we all know, the expedition was a great platform in 2007 and probably ok to 2009 but now that it is almost 8 years old it's time to restart the slate fresh.

You dip I paid 15k but a new one stickers for up to 50k or higher and to say that some fool hasnt ever paid 50k or more is lunacy. If you could understand my posts youd see that im not upset at the 15k I spent, but if I bought one for 50k (easy to do on a loaded limited or king ranch) I'd be upset.

Dont believe me on the price then go to a dealer or ford.com and see for yourself...

I had a '97 2x4 when almost no one else had one. XLT with trailer towing package, self-leveling rear, and front 60/40 seat. All else standard. Great truck! Towed my camper and towed a horse trailer like a charm.

Now I have the 2011 XLT 2x4 with trailer towing package. Pretty much all else standard.

However, now in order to get self-leveling rear, I would have had to get leather trimmed seats, premium sound system, powered 3rd row seats, and a bunch of other stuff I don't want at a price of about $5,000.00 more.

I would really have liked to have the self-leveling rear with the trailer towing package. That makes sense to me. Tying it to luxury features doesn't. That is the only thing that changes "love my truck" to "it's O.K. I suppose".

Just droved my 07 expy from Manitoba Canada all the way to Fargo althought the weather was a little bit rusty snowy ,slipperry condition. It didnt let me down and it was an awsome winter driving especially with the 4x4 auto.

Cheers.
