Here is the color of my truck, I am currently finding all new rust free doors (I have 3 just need the pass frt) then I will repaint. Along with the doors I bought all the EB trim. I will either paint them body color or bed liner black. I was thinking of painting the hood gloss black and maybe do the bumpers and frt lower valance in bed liner- what do you think about doing the hood in gloss black? I hate the color of the truck but cant afford a complete repaint so I think with some changes it could look good

Accually, there is a new way to get you're vehicle looking nice and very inexpensive, its called body wrap, its basicly a vinyl sticker that will last up to 3 yrs. pricing ranging from 300 to 10k depending on what you want. I myself am going to look into it, I hear they have normal schemes to some super nice gfx schemes. one of these BMWs has a $2000 matte paint job.. the other is vinyl $500 .. Can you tell which??

Personally I wouldn't paint it unless its super beat up, and if you are going to rattle can it. Just remember this, some body shops wont mess with anything canned, those who do will charge you a crap load.. I would save up and either do a wrap or a paint job

Yea, I think that was a shameless plug-lmao
No, I am not going to wrap it
No, when I say "repaint" I dont mean myself via a rattle can. I will take the doors to a body shop, have the jams painted, then hang them, adjust, then bring the whole truck back to the body shop and have them shoot the sides.
Thats why I am thinking of a black hood with some other black accents like bedliner bumpers and grille inset and maybe wheels in the future.
I saw another member here who has a silver expy with a black hood- looks nice

I like the idea of doing some of the trim in bedliner. Maybe I'm just getting old, but I don't understand the different color hood thing. Mix and match body panel colors make it look like you replaced something and just don't care to have it painted.

But that's just my opinion and you know what they say about opinions:D

Just like the matte black. I started seeing that on rods and muscle cars and I thought *some* of them looked good, but now I see brand new 60k vehicles redone matte and its like wtf it looks like my neighbors 94 topaz. But to each their own.

If you want a quick , cheap way to do your trim black... try Plastidip. I did my wheels and trim/ bumper on my Expy, and the wheels and rockers on my Jeep, and they turned out awesome. Its held up for 2 years now, and looks as good as the day I sprayed it... plus, it can just peel off if you ever get tired of it... $ 5 a can.... I think I used a total of about 4 cans to do the Expedition, and about 3 for the Jeep.

Here's the Expedition....

i have the same color EB Expy & it honestly wouldn't have been my 1st color choice. however i got an great deal on the truck & the paint job it has looks brand new, so i'm happy w/ it. although i may think about painting the trim as per Lane24, speaking of which, nice Expy Lane.

I was thinking of painting my bumper (it's raw steel tubing prerunner style) I also purchased polished aluminum wheels but I wish I got black wheels. Does the plasti dip really look good on wheels? Or would it look like I spray painted the wheels? I think it might be a good solution for the bumpers. I noticed home depot sells it in a spray can. Is there any particular plasti dip model number I need to get or are they all the same?

It doesn't look like you spray painted... it looks more like a matte black powder coat. No runs, or bubbles. As long as you do enough coats. Start with a really light coat where you can still see some of the color of the wheel underneath, and then let dry for 20 min. or so, and then just keep putting on heavier coats.... about 3 or 4... If you do it right .. it looks factory.

I just bought some plasti dip in the rattle can then I got it home and there was no spray tip included. So back to home depot. I also bought a can of Rust-oleum Undercoating rubberized paintable. Was that a good buy? I was going to use it for my frame. Also I purchased Rust-oleum Rust Reformer - instantly converts rust to a protected paintable surface. Is that worth using? I'll post before and after pictures of my rusted bumper. Any suggestions on prepping the light rust on my tubular bumper? Thanks for your help guys.
