I found these chunks in the motor, can anyone tell me what they used to be?

Not INSIDE the motor, but on top under the intake manifold. They are very brittle and crumble with the slightest pressure.

There is the plastic "Box" shroud that covers the throttle body (and says 4.6 TRITON or something like that). It's not that. This was down on the passenger side sort of between the "runners" of the intake.

It may be the plastic cover over the starter solenoid. After that, part of the battery box?

Plastic pieces

There is a plastic plate under the intake manifold. It becomes brittle over time and disintegrates like that. I know because I had to replace the heater tube that goes into the intake manifold and in order to do that job you have to remove the entire intake assembly. Didn't bother replacing that plastic plate and have not had any issues.
