accel is high performance, if you didn't want to spend that much, I would buy some off ebay or rockauto. before that I would take out the #4 cop and make sure they didn't just miss something. Swap the #4 cop with another one and see what happens. Inspect that connector too.

Accel Supercoils in my truck and they run fine. Can't speak to longevity though, only been in there for about 6 months. As far as plugs, stick with Motorcraft.

I didn't buy the Accel coils because of the (debatable) high performance characteristics. The set of 8 was nearly half the price of buying regular individual coils.

It depends. If your connectors are not making a good connection or get corroded the life will not be as long and you may find yourself replacing them again in 6 months. They get that way from faulty seals or just fluids leaking on them over time. Make sure you put dielectric grease on them for whatever you decide to go with. That's gives you added protection. Auto parts stores sell it. Do the accel cops have you gap the plugs further apart?

Did you try doing coils first? I would do that unless you like wasting money.

coil pak confusion...

know what....i get confused:boxed:. looking harder now that im not upset week later. since i got coil paks for each side that means its not above plugs or individule coils. da! my ACCEL wires have boot on ends at plugs then goes to pak which snaps in. looking at the junk motors so much at friends yard i get confused.....so question is,which coil paks are the best....i dont want rough idle if thats what ACCEL does? i DO NOT have coil for each cylinder...i got 2 coil paks......wonder what caused the misfire that i had to bring back then?

The best coil packs are the ones that work.
That's a hard question as you will get many different answers.
What is good for one person may not be for the next person.

A rough 'high performance' style idle comes from the cam choice. So no worry there.

If you look at the Accel specs, they are basically the same as stock. I bought them because of the price. The additional voltage that they claim, isn't relevant in a stock motor.

yea but you got coil over plug correct?yellow ones. i got 1st gen coil pack. friend told me coils are better then packs. german cars use that method for yrs. me....i like the pack....takes care of one whole side and looks like i can get to the cylinder 4 plug no problem without pulling A OLD coil from plug.(havent tried yet)....which adds time to plug change and they usually come out getting ruined or apart.:disgust:....im looking at msd coil packs but i think ill have to go accel cause my friend at shop owes me one and then ill buy the other accel pack to0 match..... i liked the MSD cause there blue.
