They really missed the mark with the front end / headlight shape. It doesn't match the lines of the rest of the vehicle. To me the 4th gens look better and more refined. However with that said, I would take the newer interior and put it in my 18. I feel like this should be called 4.5 gen nothing revolutionary.

I could take or leave the tailgate thing. I did not like it on the bmw x5 so I am curious how the new expy will work out.

Here is hoping the 28 refresh looks better.

Although I don't really like the looks, my concern in purchasing would be has the build quality and reliability improved over recent years.
My very short answer is NO!!

Some things I wish they added or didnt change:

- an air suspension option, whether rear or 4 corners
- 12 way front seats(or make the air bladders standard) and memory settings for passenger
- ventilated second row seats
- hybrid engine, 2.7l or v8 option
- red paint option
- add massage seats to kr, spp packages
- make 24in wheels an option
- max for the tremor trim

All in all, thw front still looks better to me than any of vehicle in its class and the interior is more functional than any of its competitors. The view from the drivers seat doesnt look any worse than any other vehicle, and the looks over the interior is extremely over blown. I feel like in person, the dash would be very attractive.

I just bought a 24 SPP after seeing the 25’. Steering wheel lost me, also two tone rear and my Dr Pepper color is sick with stealth package. Give the 25 a few years to work out the kinks, that is way too much tech change not to have massive bugs.

I wonder if GM will make more headway over Ford with their refreshed 2025 Tahoe/Yukon/Suburbans.

The new design is pretty good with clean and crisp lines. What really appeals to me is the availability of Blue Cruise on lower end trims. You can now get that feature without spending $85k+ on a high end Platinum.

Ive been keeping an eye on the GM Twins, and there are alot of complaints of engine and transmission failures in that camp as well, along with the now common story of having difficulty getting repairs done.

Outside of ride quality and (albeit slow) v8s, gm suvs offer nothing that's better than the expy. If ford keeps the ride and handling tight, but eliminates the harshness the current model has, it's actually extremely an appealing product.

It seems that this is the new improved strategy of screwing the consumer.

My two cents, GM's SUV's are by far the best looking. I like their interiors over Ford as well, as least as far as looks go. Last time I drove one, wasn't terribly impressed and thought it rode like crap. Of course, our 22 Exp rides horrendously as well. And I absolutely abhor all of the displays in vehicles now. Give me a mid-size infotainment screen and real buttons for HVAC. That's a dying breed so I'll be buying one of the vehicles with buttons til the day I die in +/- 30yrs. We had an X7 for a while and loved the split tailgate.

The gms look more mainstream, i wouldn't necessarily say better. The c and d pillar on all three look odd at best. However, they managed to get the proportions just right, they have a great stance. However, if you drive both the gms and ford back to back, the gms have too many concessions. Harder seats, that arent positioned for long term comfort, looser handling, slow engine, poor sound systems (bar escalade), and dated features/options. But most consumers don't do this, they just get the gm without comparing it. If they did, they'd know that jeep has the best fs suv on the market in terms of its mission.

Looks and feel are subjective...

Having been in a 2023 Suburban Premier for a week, I'd take the GM offering over the ford. I liked the way it handled, road imperfections were soaked up with very little fuss. It did feel a tad more jittery over cracked road surfaces but quickly composed itself. The power is smooth to come on and the transmission tuning was great stock, it was eager to downshift and get into the powerband when called for. Yes it revs high but that's where it makes torque and power so it has a little more noise to make than the ecoboost. the 5.3 never once felt slow or inadequate for the job at hand.

The seats were great and felt better than the ones in the expedition. The touch surfaces were nice and felt solid. While I did think some of the second row seat pulls felt cheap at first, they never once flexed or had me feeling like they were going to break off while working them.

Given that I've taken a couple spins in an equinox EV and blazer EV that use the same infotainment setup as the 2025 Suburban/Tahoe, I'll give my thoughts on it... I love the infotainment layout and dash setup (2025 Suburban dash is very similar to 2023/24 model), it's driver focused and the infotainment is angled towards the driver. It's almost like being in a cockpit and everything is very easy to get to and use while on the move.

If I were to replace my expedition tomorrow, I'd be in a new Suburban. I'd likely have the DOD delete completed (if available for the 25 models) to ensure no failed lifters but that's no different than turning around and tuning an ecoboost once purchased.

Full disclosure, my daily is a 2018 XLT with 202A package (basically a limited without the LED lights & ccd), and I have a 2024 SSV (STX trim) expedition to use at work with the 12inch display.

Thats fair. Im sure different people have differing perspectives on how these suvs feel. The 25 tahoe hc i drove felt well built as well, however, we both thought the interior was very plasticky and low grade compared to our 18 expy and 20 nav. Our expy was a limited trim, which has different seats than the xlt, and at the time we bought it, had the best seats in the class. I do feel the post refresh expys interior was a downgrade in terms of feel. The arm rest and console padding wasnt as soft as the nav (the expys console was somewhat hard as well, but the door card armrests, like the nav, are otherwordly) and the knee points weren't as comfortable as the fords either. This is echoed for the escalade. My wife was the one who pointed out that the seats weren't cushy enough. Coming from a nav and after testing a new qx80 prior, it made sense. Personally, if i needed to replace our nav as soon as we lost it, I probably wouldve gone the tahoe route, but as we are not in need until summer and blessed to be able to wait, I'll wait on the 25 expy and armada first, then make a decision. It looks like the new armada have started to hit dealers, they are showing new ones on the lot in the west. Expy build starts next monday with first drives coming the next few weeks and first examples hopefully hitting lots in mid to late feb.

I agree that the front end is not looking good. I prefer the 2018-2024 front end styling

dont they have air suspension unlike the ford? They look better ( especially the denali )
Interior quality has really stepped up.
If the Denali Ultimate and the Platinum were the same price it would be a really difficult choice

im not sold on the tailgate. IM going to have to lift my dogs up there so they dont break their legs. they are large labs too.

furthermore the standard yukon has a larger trunk then the regular expedition. If you get a bench id miss the individual tilt and slide also
