Super easy. Factory holes. I reused factory hardware.
Steel brackets that clamp on the aluminum rail. 2x 10mm bolts on each clamp.

I torqued the clamp bolts tight and never deformed the aluminum rails. I’m 270lb and they don’t flex.

If I keep them, I will get them coated with Line-X.

What's the point of the down-protruding part? Is it supposed to be the new-lowest-point of your vehicle and make the rail take the hits for you?

Also, could you photograph how it mounts up? I've got some super-jury-rigged nerfs (seems like they sent me the wrong ones, but I procrastinated past the return period..
and had to improvise, with power tools) and been curious how it was SUPPOSED to be attached

This is just a running board made to look like rock rails. It’s not going to “take a hit”. Rock rails to support this beast would be massive and would have to be frame mounted. Honestly, you would have to be crazy to rock crawl with an Expedition. That’s what Wranglers are for.
