I'm planing to buy a boat!

My question is:

Can a 2004 Ford Expedition with 4.6L XLT tow a 4000-5000lbs boat + the trailer weight?

if not, what is the maxinum boat weight that i can buy and tow safely, keep in mind about adding the trailer weight also.

Maximum towing capacity for an '04 4.6 V8 is 5000 pounds.

That's maximum and has to be reduced pound per pound for any passengers and cargo in the truck other than a 150 pound driver. You weigh 180? Maximum towing capacity just got reduced to 4970 pounds.

You must be looking for a serious boat. Mine pulls about 3000lbs of boat and trailer just fine for what its worth.

I was checking out them boat at cabella's and all weighting 3500+ lbs.... on the one that I like... so my family can tag along.
