I'm not talking about cold air intakes, I'm wondering about the intake manifold itself. Is there any kind of mod that can be done on the intake itself that will increase performance?

For example: on my 350Z I was able to get an additional 20 HP by installing a "plenum spacer". The factory intake plenum was about 3/4" shorter in height at the front half because it had to fit underneath the steel bar that connects the two front struts for stiffening the frame. The mod consisted of raising the bar away from the engine, then installing a wedge shaped spacer in the intake plenum. (the plenum was a two peice top/bottom)This made the plenum the same height in the front and back, which allowed the four front and middle cylinders to get the same airflow as the (originally taller) rear cylinders. It was an easy well known cheap performance gain for those cars.

I don't know if this Triton engine has any issues with it's intake manifold. Is there possibly a hot exhaust bypass going through it? Is there any part of it that's restricted? Just wondering,
