So I bought some IPCW led tails back in November but I didn't actually put them on until April. I love them, they look great and they're super bright but about a month and a half ago I noticed 1 led on the drivers side was out. Gradually one by one they kept going out, sometimes they would start out lit and flicker a little bit then go out, sometimes they would just be out when I turn the lights on.

I called the distributor I got them from and IPCW has a 1 year warranty on their led products so they sent me a new one. Of course as soon as I got the replacement I noticed one out on the passenger side and now they are going out one by one just like the other side.

Has anyone had anything similar happen with their led tails, IPCW or any other brand?

Also I noticed a few nights ago when I locked my truck with the remote all of the leds on both lights lit up so I hit the lock button about 5-6 more times with the same result but it doesn't happen every time. When I turned the light switch on though the lights were out again WTH......... any thoughts?

When I was shopping for mine I found them ranging from $125 up to $400ish and figured I'd spend the extra dough to get a good product so I wouldn't have to worry about anything. I guess I was wrong. These retail for like $325 but I picked them up for $250 shipped, I guess I should think again before I pass up the cheaper stuff next time.

I put the replacement drivers side on today, so far so good. Now I'm just waiting for the new passenger side to get here.

Is it possible to get at the circuit board that the leds are soldered to?

Most likely they have just vibrated loose and could be soldered.

You can but it's covered by this cheap flimsy sticker that your not supposed to remove or else it voids the warranty.

I checked it when I took the bad one out today but it still did the same thing. The new one is fully lit so hopefully it stays that way.

Any update on this, Mikes05expy?

In the process of picking up our new Hybrid Camping Trailer last weekend, the dealership accidentally smashed into my truck. Long story short, I am repairing the damage, and also upgrading the headlights, and had considered the taillights. If this is the experience you have had and continue to have with the IPCW ones, I will just keep the OEM lights I have.

Thanks for your feedback! I would wonder if that had something to do with your climate versus the OP's climate, and its effect on the electronics of the lights? I am in a similar climate to the OP, and I don't want to be paying to replace these any time soon.

I finally decided in October to just get my money back, which was a headache in itself and took about 2 months to actually get the check from Amazon.

Out of all the lights I looked at these ones were the best looking ones I found with the most LED's and they were ridiculously bright.

The problem with them is the gaping hole in the back covered with a laminated piece of paper that says warranty void if removed which was BS because everytime I called them they never asked about the paper cover. It covers the circuit board inside the housing and other than that it's pretty much just exposed. I really like the look of the IPCW's over all the other lights I looked at so I'm thinking of just buying another set and making some sort of cover for the opening and seeing if that solves the problem. I'll take a pic of the problem area when I get home so you can see exactly what I'm babbling about.

Does yours have an opening in the back of the housing where you can see the circuitry?

Sorry, got busy with the holidays but here's what I was talking about on the back side of the light.

I don't for the life of me understand why they would make such a good looking product with such a poor design.
