I would like to add in here. if I keep the stock rim.. can the 295/50/22 on the factory rim work? turns out the factory tire, one of them, is out of round.. so I need to replace sooner than later. sooner meaning like 2 weeks soon.. I know the 4wd sits lower than the 2wd.. unsure why. and I can't afford to replace the shocks right now and get those 2" shock lifts I did on my 18 expy..

I am getting the Toyo at3 tires. I am not ready to spend for new tires yet alone wheels, brakes and all that. so validate what is possible today

Anybody have 295/50 on 22" factory wheels? Width looks good and they'll be 33.6" tall, LT 10ply which I like for towing. Any rub, or do you need a small lift? Looking at the AMP Terrain Pro (good copy of the BFG KO2s)

I am getting 285/50/22 on the 202 expy tomorrow. I intentionally did not go wider as until there is some sort of shock or suspension lift, pretty sure there could be rubbing which I wanted to avoid. Yes they will fit on the rim. FYI, I am getting totyo AT3.. and as soon as you go up from factory they are load E tires... no longer LT.

285/50r22 on stock wheels with no lift will just fit. I just installed Yokohama Geolander A/T G015 in this size. These tires are taller than any other 285/50r22 I found. Specs show 33.7" vs seems others are no more than 33.3". (Not the reason I bought them. I found an incredible deal and had been looking at these anyway.) I will say that I don't think any larger tire will fit... without small spacers or new wheels with different offset.

E rated which I wanted because I will tow occassionally, and I wanted a thicker 3 ply sidewall for some backcountry mountain roads that aren't always maintained well. Essentially 5% taller than stock, so effectively makes the 3.73 into 3.54(ish).

It's going to be very very close. I just installed Geolander A/T G015 in 285/50/22 size, and they just barely fit. I am not sure 295s will fit with stock wheel offset. I think they will rub the front shock/suspension. These Geolander's I got show 33.7" tall, so your hight should be ok.

Using a 1/2" wheel spacer may be all you'd need.

yes.. it is because the bumper is busted and is off. had a small bump 2 months after I got it and can't seem to get ahead enough to pay to get it fixed. needing to buy new ties not heling that. but that is why it looks close. but it does not rub.

Similar situation here - 19 XLT 202A package. Had the stock 20's with a 275/55/20 Pirelli Scorpions. I found a set of 17" Raptor 7 hole wheels, and went to a 295/70/17 Nitto Recon Grappler. Lifted with Bilstein 5100's, 1.6" front/1.5" rear. Everything clears with no rubbing in any situation, and rides way better than stock.
