... I have ALWAYS been a Michelin guy for 40 years...
FYI, BF Goodrich is owned by Michelin as of around 1988. I like to think of BFG as the truck tire version of Michelin.

I just pulled the trigger on a set of Michellin Defender LTX MS2 tires. Thank you for your input. (Purchased through Tire Rack, with an $80 instant savings at checkout.) Should be here tomorrow. I shipped them to my local installer and will have them installed next week! Not trying to persuade you one way or another, just pointing out a few flaws with the review you have seen.
Tests on brand new tires are one thing, but you've got to keep in mind the mileage and long term performance too. The Continental is rated for 70k, the Michelins are rated for 75k. Even though the tire price is 15% more for Michelin - that added mileage drags it down to 8% if you get the rated mileage.
Tirerack reviews put the Michelin performing better in every category over the course of the tire's life, I've personally put both on vehicles and Michelin has exceeded the rated mileage where Continental has not gotten the rated mileage on the 2 sets I put on. I've been happy with the Michelin performance out even up to 80k miles, where as the Continentals got loud & had noticeable performance degradation around 40k miles.
Usually what happens is that they'll prorate the mileage you've gotten out of the tires and provide a credit to get them replaced, but it's not when you have performance degradation and it was when they hit the wear bars. So in my case, I got a credit for like $40/tire because I was at the wear bars at 60k after 20k miles of poor performance and could prove that I had normal alignments and rotations - that credit went right to Michelin where I didn't notice performance degradation until closer to 65k miles and made it through summer at 80k before replacing with another set of Michelin. For me, if I'm putting tires on something I'm going to keep then I now default to the Michelin.
I've had the '22 SPP since I got it brand new, other vehicles we've had between an Explorer ST, pick up trucks, Jeeps, we've messed around with a variety of tires. I do a tire rotation at every oil change and an alignment once a year because I want to get the most mileage out of the tires. The General Grabbers that came stock on the SPP were terrible, I've been very happy with the Michelins and have about 35k on them now. We do a lot of driving here in NH where we get plenty of snow, ice, and have a cottage with a long dirt road - only issue I've had was picking up a screw in a tire from my shop.
I decided on the MS2's. They seem very well suited for the long winters where I live. As expensive as they are, I hope I'm not dissatisfied with them!! The way I'm looking at it right now is, that ANYTHING is better than the General Grabbers that came OEM. They are the worst tire I've ever had on any of my vehicles. They were relatively quiet, but horrible wet traction and terrible snow traction. Our Pirelli AS Plus 3s are great so far. Unsure on the longevity, but we'll see. It was a hard choice between those and the LTX MS2s. I had those on the front of our Armada, and didn't like them as much as the previous gen LTXs that we replaced. There was definitely more road noise with the new ones and they seemed to tramline some.
Have Michelin CrossClimate2 on a ‘13 Honda Odyssey, they’ve been great and have the “mountain & snowflake” rating.Just had these put on my '22 SPP.... I love them. Only driven about 200 miles, but they're great. Got them from Discount tire

Hi TonyR0206: I am glad to hear that you chose Michelins and I am pretty certain that you will be pleased with them! Being as I am a SoCal driver, I see very little snow unless we take a skiing trip up to Mammoth Mountain. So, once the snow weather sets in there, please keep us updated with your 'personal' experience with these Michelins. Your thoughts are important to me and most likely others, on here, interested in changing to new tires! Thanks again, LanceI decided on the MS2's. As a Syracuse native with a Northern commute, and an ‘18 on 22s, I’m also waiting to hear feedback. Will do!
We got hit pretty good the last two days.Binghamton here. I’ll update after the first snowfall we get. Believe me….I’m just as interested as everyone else on these, especially as they were a well-rated, expensive tire! lol

Mopar is running a buy 3 get 1 for $1, so it was a hell of a deal. Plus there’s an active rebate for them too, not sure if it’ll go through, but I’m gonna give it a shot. Also throwing a set on the wife’s Wagoneer too.
I look forward to hearing about your Michelin performance when you're on Snow Covered Roads! Sounds good so far though. LanceSo, I've had not had the opportunity to drive these tires in snow covered roads, but I've driven them on some pretty slushy roads. So far, I'm impressed with them. The traction has been great. I'll update again once I drive in some more adverse conditions.
