Just some things I've been working on. Still more to do.

How hard is it? I'd love to get rid of all the green and swap it out for something like white!

Some of them are really easy like the doors are already leds so they just swap out but things like the climate control are tough. The climate control only has 2 incandescent bulbs in it which works fine but leds are directional so I ended up wiring 4 leds in series from each contact to make it look good.

so the ones in the doors are direct replacement...2nd gens too?

This is what I started with. They were aleady LED so the resistors are there too. All I did was replace the LEDs with blue ones and they work great. Now on my 2000 expy all the original bulbs had a green silicone sleeve over the bulb to look green. I tested them all with the sleeves off to make sure that the buttons themselves didn't have an overlay color which they didn't. The only one that did was the climate control and it was a plastic overlay that was just removable, so I did. I don't know for sure on the 2nd Gen. They are really easy to pull out and find out. Here are more pics of the process.

That looks really cool. All of my lights are burning out slow but sure on my dash. Are you going to convert the lights behind the gauges as well in the future? Looks good so far!

Thank you and yes that is the plan. My wife wants me to finish her truck first but then I'm going to do the gauges. I'm also a little worried about taking them apart, I've read stories about people who try to do it and can't get the needles to work right after.

Yeah he should no problem. Thats where I learned was from a friend who is a car stereo wizard and he showed me the basics and you just learn as you go.

I have opened the gauges up to do a fix on the odometer led display screen. Its a process to get the gauge cluster out but it can be done. I can post pics of the circuit board completely removed. There are a handful of torx screws and one ribbon connector to get the circuit board completely isolated.

Is it tricky getting the needles off and back on again all in working order? That is my only fear.
