So today I recieved my 9007 6400 lumen dual beam LED lights with copper heat sinks and metal housed fans. I will be putting them in later today if the weather permits and I plan on getting new headlight housings within the month. I also got a 50 inch 300 w dual beam light bar. I already have a light bar mounted to my roof that uses halogen bulbs. I was originally thinking of replacing it with this light bar but the mounting points are different and I planned to make custom mounts for it so I could reuse my current mounts so I dont have to drill new holes in my roof.

But then I got to thinking maybe I could mount it on the top of my front bumper (since the 97 has the flat top on it). With my large tires the top of my bumper is pretty high and I don't really need to worry about any cars or even most SUVs being able to hit it while parking. My only concern is in the event of an accident it would be destroyed even if its a minor accident that bends the bumper. Please everyone give me some input and opinions on mounting locations.

The only thing I can say is that I've never seen a light bar that wide mounted on the bumper. There's certainly no reason not to mount it down there.

You could get some of the door jamb roof mounts for a 10th gen F150 to go across the windsheild. That would look pretty badass on an Expy.

You could see what it looks like, just get a buddy to hold it there.

AS for damage a tree limb could take it out if 4WD in the woods. so just mount it where it looks good.

I got around to installing the led headlights yesterday and all I can say is it looks like daylight in front of my truck. I did it last night and I think I will have do re aim my lights a bit to not blind everyone especially since my truck sits higher then most normal vehicles and my regular lights were already right at other drivers eye line. I am going to play around with possible mounting locations today for the bar. I kind of wish there was enough room by the cowl but I'm almost certain there isn't. The bar is rated at 20,000 lumen and has a total of 100 leds(2 rows of 50).

Alright well here is a few pics of the LED headlights I haven't gotten to the bar yet though. I did notice today that since the lights have 2 leds (one high, one low beam) the low beam faces up in the housing which you can tell and when you put on the high beams both leds are lit and fill the whole housing. Don't get me wrong they are still bright as hell but just something I noticed and figured I would share in the event someone else wanted to get them, it may bother some people. I am replacing my housings in the next month or so with the black housings with just the chrome reflectors. Maybe this will help but I'm not sure.m The last pic shows the glow in the dark spray i had put on my lights just to see how it would look lol. The LEDs made the glow in the dark show 10x more then the halogens did lol

I will be replacing my fog lights with LED as well after I finish my Christmas shopping. Unless I can get someone to buy me them for Christmas lol. I am also replacing the running board lights with LEDs and probably all other bulbs except for the tail lights bulbs because I have seen where it looks like hot spots in the tail lights and they dont hit the reflectors. I have been toying with the idea of buying a second smaller led bar for rear facing lighting in dark places when I go camping or take it off road.

Just some ideas, i don't think the bumper will look good. Maybe if it was a 40in bar but this ones to long for that I think. Here's some pics...

Here is some pics with it on the bumper and with it and the headlights on. Keep in mind this was at like 330 in the afternoon so it was still completely day light out lol

These are the exact model I have but I didn't order them on here so I can't speak on behalf of the seller. I get all my LED stuff through a friend who works for a contruction company since he orders in bulk and gets a discount. They really light up the night. After having them in there for almost a month I really like them. You don't notice how much they light everything up until you shut them off, then its like damn... its dark. In the first gen I had no fitment issues as far as depth goes. Some people in other vehicles have had issues due to the fans making the bulbs extra long behind the headlight housing.
