I have a 2003 4.6L 2wd Expedition and when i go to start it wether its a cold start or when its at operating temp it takes about a good 3-5 seconds to catch. No rough ideling after it's up and running or while driving around town. I changed the fuel filter, spark plugs, coils and crank sensor about a month ago and this problem started as soon as the coils were replaced. Any help is greatly appreciated thanks.

Does it still do it if you "prime" the fuel system first? Turn the key to ON, wait a couple seconds, turn it off, then try to start.

I did the priming technique and it helps it doesnt take as long to fully crank over but not it used to before the repairs i disconnected the battery today and after plugging it in the light went away but it took a good 4 seconds to crank over =/

You should have tried to go get the CEL checked. It might still be in there, though. Maybe try to stop by and see if they can pull the code? Might be able to lead us in the right direction.

Do you still have your old coils you could swap in? Not sure how it might help since it sounds like it might be a fuel issue, but you say it did start after you did your coils. Or were they bad and that's why you swapped them?

I am having the same issue with my 03 expy, I was thinking that it was in need of a tune up, but after reading some of the issues with the spark plugs I was not about to attempt that just yet. Interested to hear any results.
