Ok, so as the title said, I lost 4th gear/overdrive. I’m aware that this is most likely caused by a broken snap ring or a piece of a snap ring from the o/d piston. Anyway, I just dropped the pan and found this laying in the bottom of the pan. Anyone know what it is and where it goes?

It was from manufacturing, it is a plug for the transmission until the tube for filling/level check goes in after the transmission is in the truck.
When they put the tube in it pushes it into the pan.
So, it is supposed to be there and you can throw it away.
