Low beam Headlight Duse Location Mystery

Hi all,

I am floored that I have to use Forums to locate the low beam headlight fuse, surely that information should be readily available in the owners manual.

I called the dealer and they said I should bring the car in. Wow!

Anyway, my driver low beam headlight went out and I want to check the fuse because the bulb is good. Any help locating the fuse would be greatly appreciated.

There is no fuse for low beams only according to the wiring diagram.
Do you have LED or halogen headlamps?
Do the high beams, and turn signal work on the drivers side. They pull from the same bus.

I had a light not "light up" on a Vibe a few years ago. Bulb and fuse were good. Had to get a wiring diagram and multimeter and chase down where the problem was. It ended up being a situation where one of the brass terminals in the socket for one of the front lights had been knocked out of it's intended location (just slightly). Odd thing was the light that was out was in the rear of the vehicle, not where the terminal problem was. That Vibe had hit Bambi 6 months before so it explained the dislocation. All I had to do was bend it a tiny bit and snap it back into where it belonged. If you start chasing voltages and continuity it will eventually point to the where the root cause problem resides. Like a lot of electrical problems.

So the high beams and turn signals work just fine. The right lights all work fine too. It’s not the bulb for sure so I just assumed a fuse was the issue. The car is under warranty so I can take it in, it just seems silly for what I thought was a fuse.

I have halogen. I want to switch them to LED bulbs though.

If I’m reading the wiring diagram correctly it is either either the BCM or the wiring in the brown-blue wire. It also could be the ground path.

They use mosfett’s instead of relays. So there are no replaceable relays to check.

It is probably one of the female pins in the socket got pushed out. Both my older Ford’s did that.
