Here is a pic lower to the ground

I also have the tow hooks off painting them a Chrysler silver (it was all that I had that was a bright silver metallic paint). I’m also clear coating them since I hope to never need to use them.

I will not pay $80-90 each for the chrome hooks.

You would need to compare identical drives with identical conditions to gauge efficiency differences. I’m assuming below 60 mph you’re probably talking .1 mpg or less. At 75+, or even 85 in some area I drive, I imagine you’d see 1 mpg give or take. Old article below may help explain too, again it’s science and references all over compared to someone who may not be documenting correctly. Either way, I’m still taking mine off.

While you have them off, could you take some pictures of the height and length of the tow hooks? When I bought tow hooks for my 2wd, I used F150 hooks. They look correct, but I’ve wondered if there were any differences.

I painted my tow hooks red. I think they are Ford Performance red. They were actually designed for brakes as I hope to paint my brakes red one day.
