Hello all! I wanted to make a small list of the things i have been doing to my expedition and will continue to update it as I go.

Day i got the expedition- oil and air filter change.

https://www.expeditionforum.com/threads/tune-up.58512/#post-530801- 7/8 spark plugs, and 8 coil packs. CM5243 fuel injectors (listed for the 6.2l v8, all this will do is give a more finer spray while using the same amount of fuel, resulting in cleaner burn=more power.

And just today installed this intake tract that i designed myself. Had to cut about 15 degrees off each end, and used a 45 degree elbow, 3.5” hose joint and 3.5” hoses.

Interesting project there :)

Have you notice any changes/issues as a result of removing the factory intake path ?

I ask because it seems to be a good bit shorter & more direct than the original setup. Plus some things that were previously covered up by the shroud are now exposed & easier to get to, which I really like (but not if it causes more problems than it solves) because I am a big fan of the "K.I.S.S." line of thought...

no issues, no check engine lights or anything like that. Throttle is a little more responsive, feels a little more torque-y at light throttle, and there is no sound change in throttle until about 40% throttle, with it being obviously very loud at full throttle. Sounds like a v8 now.

Isn't it already a V8 (ie the 5.4) ?

If I stomp on the pedal on mine, people can hear it coming at least a mile away, cause that beast definitely ROARS big time, and all of a sudden, I'm going 80-90+mph, and have to slam on the brakes or risk going to the pokey, hahahaha.. :D

Well yeah, it is a V8, but with that intake muted you can’t hear it XD

https://www.expeditionforum.com/threads/tire-size-help.58511/#post-531142-> this thread resulted in me getting some 275/65r18 tires installed, and the speedometer is a little more accurate. Rpm’s went up a little bit, as was previously pointed out in that thread but I am fine with it. Has a little more pep to it with the smaller tires and is much more comfortable to drive, with this thing being the family/grocery hauler.

Put in some pod lights where the flood lights go, one of the old floods had melted the light to the housing and was trash, and i had this set laying around so i popped it in. I will probably redo this at some point, and cover the fog light holes so i can truly do a flush mount but for now this works.

Well, IMHO, those fog lights look a little out of place, but perhaps installing some kind of wire guards over them would help them be less noticable (kinda like the ones they make for tail lights), or of course, just replace them with OEM-style but LED fixtures would be good too :D

I do think they look out of place, so for now this is just a temporary fix, but I will have them done more permanently before this coming winter. I would go with OEM style but it would cost me more than this did, so hence my job ive done. :)
