I just bought a 06 Expedition limited and I don't have any of the cd's for the OEM Nav. system, however I'm looking to replace the system with something that has Bluetooth/Radio/Nav and Aux connection. Can someone lead me to something that comes as close to what I'm looking for.

Thanks

Go to crutchfield.com...outfit your car and they will show you everything that's the latest and greatest that will work...pioneer...alpine...jvc...Jensen...sony...dual...clarion....goes on forever...when u find the one u want u can search for cheaper but I recommend buying from them...they give all installation hardware required for free and u have support as long as u own the equipment so u can install into another vehicle 7yrs later and they will still help you with troubleshooting...I've done it...

+1 on this ^

I went with the Pioneer AVIC-940BT and added the HD receiver as well as the steering wheel control module. Turned out great. I had already replaced the rear door speakers with Pioneer units as well. I just put the GPS receiver on a cross member under the dashboard cover ( you'll see it when you pull out the stock radio... ), great reception and unseen. I drilled and tapped the back cover of the Pioneer unit to accept the stock lower bracket mount to give the head unit a firm, secure mount, no rattles or flexing. Crutchfield offers great tech support. If you have a factory rear DVD unit make sure you get the additional harness plug required for that. They'll know which one you need. The Nav system is really convenient for anybody using my Expod whether they have a smart phone or not, it's always there and might add a few bucks to the resale value later. It has a mini-SD card slot in the front upper right hand corner. I put about a thousand (or every MP3 I owned...) songs on it and haven't run through them all yet. This unit is about two years old. It has a DVD movie capability but I don't really watch movies in my Expod.

Thanks guys, I'm looking at the Pioneer AVH-P8400BH. I like the idea of being able to remove the face plate.

Pioneer avic all the way. I just put in an avh8400bh and love it. I would have gotten an avic but dont need navigation.

That's why I decided to go with the AVH-P8400, I don't really need the nav system after all. Seems my phone will do the job for me.

You put in your response while I was typing mine. I love mine and i bought the interface so I could keep the steering wheel controls as well. Next is a back up camera

I'd like to keep the steering controls also. One thing they've talked a lot about is having an iPhone to connect to the system. I have an android phone, I hope they have one (AVH-P8400BH) that I can use my phone on. I haven't given much thought to the back up camera.... Ok after doing some research I found out that the Pioneer AVH-X5500BHS will support Android cell phones.

I really don't care about watching Vids in my truck either. I really just want a system that would look nice and most of all sound great. I currently have a six disks CD changer hooked up to my OEM Nav/Radio and I don't want to carry around CD's anymore. So I'll need to find a way to store my over 4000 MP3's and to play them while on the road. I have thought about connecting a USB storage device to the stereo, but I'm not sure if that would work.

I have an android as well but i'm ok with using bluetooth. I wish the truck had buttons on the steering for the phone like my wife's Kia. Then it would be perfect.

This is there website. http://www.pac-audio.com/. They don't sell directly to the public otherwise I would have driven to thier main office in Clearwater and picked it up there. I bought mine from ebay.

Yes I am. For the radio, AVH-P8400BH. For the steering wheel interface, Pac-Audio SWI-RC.

No it wasn't. It was actualy easier to get the dash apart than I thought. One other thing I did was do as much of the wiring in my house before I ever went into the truck. There is two bolts above the cluster that come out first, then just pop off the dash bezel(be careful to unplug all the different switches) and set it out of the way. Then two bolts for the radio and then the plugs for the radio and finally the antena wire and your done. You will need to find a wire for the SWI but the directions tell you exactly where it is. The only other thing is the parking brake wire. Now with that, you have options. First, you can do it the "RIGHT" way and hook it to your parking brake. Second, you can run a switch for it and third you can run a relay like i did and not have to flip the switch everytime you want to play a dvd.

I remember putting in stereos in mine and a few of my friends vehicles back in the days, but this one seems like it would be a challenge for me to do. It would be my luck I'd brake something that can't be replaced without having to buy a new console.
