I have an 07 Expedition with 147k miles on it. While replacing a bad rear caliper I could not get the brakes bled. I tried bleeding each caliper and master cylinder multiple times but no matter what, after a few miles of driving the brake pedal would fall to the floor and I had to stand on the pedal to get it to stop. Pretty scary to say the least. I took it to a reputable shop, they replaced the master cylinder after bench bleeding it but they ran into the same problems. Braking would be fine for a few miles then the pedal would fall to the floor. They told me the abs module was the culprit but at 600-1k I want to see if anyone else has had this issue. There have been no codes thrown and it will drive normally but braking is a nightmare. Since I drive my 2 year around I decided to park it. I really need to get it repaired asap. Any help is greatly appreciated.

You may have air trapped in the abs module.

From the service manual.
"NOTE: Performing the diagnostic program routine drives entrapped air from the otherwise inaccessible lower section of the ABS valve into the upper sections (accessible by bleeding the brakes). Subsequent bleeding removes the air from the system."

There is but the manual is written for using the Ford service/scan tool or a high end service tool that handles abs. The steps are contained within the tool.
